Frankly 2014 was a fucking shit year and I've no reason to believe 2015 will be any better. So happy new year to my friends and family and the rest can FOAD.

What a....

... complete and utter tart.

Shake Hands

Shake hands, we shall never be friends, all's over;

I only vex you the more I try.

All's wrong that ever I've done or said,

And nought to help it in this dull head:

     Shake hands, here's luck, good-bye.

But if you come to a road where danger

Or guilt or anguish or shame's to share,

Be good to the lad that loves you true

And the soul that was born to die for you,

And whistle and I'll be there.

A.E. Housman.

Goliath. Well chuffed.

Motive power for trip from Paignton to Kingswear and back. Hauling a train of "vintage" carriages, some of which were standard in service stock when I was at school and went on railway club outings. Tempus Fugit.

Holidays

On the whole, much as this isn't unpleasant, I'd much rather I wasn't doing it on my own.

It's definitely better to share ones travels.

A better day

Today was a better day. A visit to Hampton Court Palace, not been there since I was a child.

It could have finished better though, 5 trains to get home and then to an empty bed.

Wall

Never sure if I'm outside the wall trying to get in, or inside trying to get out but keep bashing into it, which is rather depressing :-(
