Stabbed (1/2)

First jab received today at the Madjeski Stadium in Reading as that was the closest place the NHS could offer when I booked two weeks or so ago. The SMS from my GP practice inviting me to book for stabbing arrived a couple of days ago, which seems to be par for the course.

All very quick and efficient. I was about 30 minutes early for my 10:10 appointment and prepared to wait in the car but the hi-vis car park attendant said to go straight in. Short queue, up stairs book in and get a little card after confirming I hadn’t any symptoms, wasn’t waiting on a test, and declared my preferred nationality/ethnicity. Round to the stabbing booths, pretty nurse, confirming again I hadn’t any symptoms, wasn’t waiting on a test, and declared my preferred nationality/ethnicity and date of birth. Which arm do you want it in? Left. Did you drive here? Yes. Wait in your car for 15 minutes just in case before driving home. "Sharp scratch”. Paper work. Do not lose your card - surely in 2021 that can’t be the only record that you’ve had it and what you’ve had? Astra Zeneca, got it in before the shortages begin! Disappointed not to get a lollypop, vaccinations aren’t so rewarding as in the 1960s.

Back in June for round two.

Took some government approved exercise on the way home with a little 4 mile country stroll.

No side effects so far apart from Bill Gates in my head urging me to buy a Windows PC. On the plus side my 5G reception is fuckin’ excellent!
